15!
What an epic final! Finally Roger Federer has finally beaten Pete Sampras' record of 14 Grand Slam titles. It's about time too. Now I can finally switch my allegiance to someone else- I miss cheering for the underdog. I'm just not sure who yet.
Don't get me wrong Rog is a pretty cool guy, but only really because he is so awesome at tennis. He loses his coolness factor quite quickly when he starts losing matches. I personally think he just takes himself a bit too seriously. What is up with his specially designed Wimbledon outfits?! Poncy. Bring back denim and highlighter pink spandex! Whatever it is, Rog is just not the same type of classic entertainer that Agassi and Johnny Mac were- guys who had that can't quite describe cool "attitude". Maybe Rog would find a bit of that "attitude" if he used his trusty Gillette shaver on those flowing brown locks of his- a number two cut would be a good change I reckon. I do have to say, though at least his match-winning celebrations were much improved this time around. There was no sign of his classic bury-my-face-in-both-hands-then-collaspe-to-the-ground-and-roll-over move. There's hope for him yet.
Seriously though- Rog is an amazing athlete and 15 is a huge effort! Congratulations Rog!
