The greatest drink ever invented

Have you ever tried 100Plus?! If you haven't then you need to find a local Asian food wholesaler and ask them to order you a crate now. This drink is the elixir of life! I got hooked on this isotonic deliciousness when I lived in Singapore. Not only does it taste like a perfect dream, but it is the ultimate cure for a disgusting hangover or a super sweaty sport workout. Make sure it is ice cold though or you won't get this drink's full amazing rejuvenating powers. 100Plus is totally healthy for you too- my Singaporean doctor recommended that I drink at least a couple of cans a day. Excellent advice.

Unfortunately, when I moved from Singapore back to New Zealand for university it took a couple of years for 100Plus to follow me back. In that time I made the silly, hugely regrettable mistake of converting to Powerade. A couple of years drinking that sugar-overloaded concoction (it is made by Coke so what do you expect) and I had to visit the dentist to get my front teeth capped. The suger had slowly dissolved the enamel off the front of my teeth! That was when I finally tracked down 100Plus to a small Asian food wholesaler. What a huge find that was! I quickly got back on track with my drinking and my teeth were saved from future harm.

I think this quote from the 100Plus website sums up the drink's awesomeness:

"Outdo yourself and go beyond the limits of your mind. 100Plus comes in multiple invigorating flavours besides the ever famous Original taste to zap you for the challenges ahead."

I couldn't have said it better. The 100Plus zap is incredible- right my 100Plus people? Sooo good!

Speaking of zap, right now I'm off to drink my second 100Plus can of the day. Fortunately for me, Dubai was already up to speed with its 100Plus distribution and I didn't have to worry about ordering a shipment from Singapore.

Cheers!

Johnny Drama plays rugby for Australia...

I watched the All Blacks beat Australia this weekend (huge game!) and thought I saw a familiar face in the Aussie line up.  It looks like Johnny Drama (star of Entourage) has given up Hollywood, put on a good few pounds and laced up as prop for Australia.  What a crap prop he is too.  Stick to b-grade acting mate!

Fiordland quake measures 7.8!

Lucky no one really lives in or too close to Fiordland (bottom of the South Island in New Zealand) cause 7.8 is well massive.  There would have been a lot of freaked out people in the South Island tonight having trouble getting to sleep after that.  Hopefully there weren't any injuries or too much damage anywhere.

That's one thing you have to put up with living in New Zealand- earthquakes are pretty common.  I've been in a few big ones in the last few years and it is damn scary.  At first you think you are just having a dizzy spell, but then you feel the whole apartment building start to sway!  It definitely takes a fair while for your heart to slow down, especially if the after-shocks are strong.

One good thing about an earthquake that big though- there could be a few surfers waking up tomorrow morning finding some very decent sets.  Those brave enough to brave the wintry cold waters that is.  (On a quick note English must be so hard to learn- brave enough to brave?!  Confusing!)

Click here if you want to find out more about the Fiordland quake.  Here's one brilliant quote from a local: In Tuatapere, a Waiau Hotel patron said a ute parked outside the street shaked as though someone was jumping on it. ''The staff ran away scared so the drinks have been free.''  Priorities.  On ya!!

Tri-Nations time!

I am so stoked with all the rugby lined up over the next couple of months. There's no better way to spend your Saturdays during the summer in Dubai than watching Tri-Nations rugby with a homemade big breakfast (bacon, eggs, hash browns, tomatoes and mushrooms - my girlfriend is the best!) especially if you're nursing a hangover.

Australia and South Africa are both on form and looking rather dangerous this year. The All Blacks will have to step it up a level if they want to defend their Tri-Nations title this year. I reckon we're up for it. A few key big-game players back in the forwards, a backline looking to prove the critics wrong, and Henry and co. out to prove their worth- Sorted!

First up is Australia this Saturday at Eden Park in Auckland, NZ. Bring it on Aussie!

By the way, if you're interested you can find a full list of the fixtures here.

It's cool to be fourth!

The Flight of the Conchords, "formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo", have made it cool to be fourth.  Mmmmmm Moro!

Antipodes Mineral Water From New Zealand

"New Zealand Water, across the board is renowned for its purity.
Antipodes is amongst the most pure.
Antipodes comes to the surface from a deep aquifer and is bottled at source in Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand."
- antipodes website

I purchased a bottle of antipodes still water to try a while ago, but the bottle looked so nice and "pure" I decided to wait for a special occasion to open it.  Silly I know- I mean it's just water, but being away from home I don't get to drink New Zealand water that often.  Well everytime I went to grab the bottle of water it just looked so classy sitting there in my fridge that before I knew a couple of months had gone by.  Last night I told myself enough.  My girlfriend and I finally had it with dinner and it was honestly some of the best water we have ever tasted!  It could be that we haven't had New Zealand water in a while, but man was it delicious!  I am definitely going to buy some more this weekend.

If you don't think water can taste delicious then you haven't tried New Zealand water.  So check out the website to see if they have it in your city and try it for yourself.

If you are interested to see how your favourite water stacks up you can do so at the world's leading independent, non-profit mineral water website - www.mineralwaters.org.  antipodes earned five stars!

RUGBY 2.0!

The new All Blacks season is about to kick off - June 13 against the Frogs in Dunedin.  Wicked!  If you're overseas and can't get the New Zealand commentary or if you're simply getting a little tired of Murray Mexted's same old jokes check out Jedi at the Alternative Rugby Commentary.  Jedi offers his own uncensored take on every All Black match- it's Kiwi, it's hilarious, and its full of swear words- what more could you want?!  Well, a dozen beers in the fridge would be a good start.  Fans of The 12th Man will love it.  The commentary streams live from the website, so all you have to do is mute your TV and hook up your computer to some speakers.  If you live in NZ you might even be able to catch the show live at a bar near you.  Details of the live shows should be up on the website soon.

Here's a little teaser Jedi just released: The E.L.V.s. (Engorge Liquor Vigorously).  Enjoy responsibly.

DUMMER. LIKE NOTHING ELSE!

I found this awesome website the other day - tagadummer.com.  It's all about how Hummers are absolutley ridiculous vehicles and how environmentally irresponsible and plain dumb it is for people to own one.  In an attempt to educate Hummer owners on the offensiveness of their vehicle choice the website is asking anyone who sees a Hummer to cover up the H with a homemade D and create a Dummer.  (Well legally speaking the creators of the website aren't asking you to do anything- what you choose to do is your responsibility haha.)  You can actually grab your own pre-designed Ds from a download template on the website.  Different sizes are available and the font matches the actual Hummer font design.  Tagging made easy!  Don't forget to post photos of your handiwork to the website and do be careful cause it actually is still vandalism.

I haven't tagged my first Dummer yet.  There are lots of them in Dubai, but my girlfriend is worried that the owner will be some high up local who will have me thrown in jail and deported.  I know I'm too stealth to get caught (physically), but who knows what spies are lurking in this neck of the woods.  She makes a good point too.  Supposedly some Brito dude got deported for flipping the bird!  Ah democracy- how I miss thee.

If you are reading this back home in New Zealand you probably won't be able to get too involved.  Dummers don't really exist.  I think Kiwis as a whole are too environmentally-conscious to buy a Dummer.  That and the fact that if you did own a Dummer you can be sure some hippies would do more than tag a D on it!  Nah give me a Ford any day mate!  Holdens are scum!  Bathurst!  Chicanes!  Petrol petrol petrol!  I find car racing pretty offensive as well by the way.

One last thing, if you are reading this in the States, particularly in Houston, Texas where my bro and sister-in-law live, just keep in mind the odds that Dummer owners are also gun owners is probably pretty high.  Make sure you've got your running shoes on.

Here's your classic Dummer owner.  Dumb-ass.

Go Team Dummer Go!

FUSH N CHUPS!

Here's one reason why New Zealand is awesome!  Legend bro yeeah!

Us Kiwis are real big on NZ pride and love laying claim to people who do cool shit like this.  Don't get too famous and sell out though mate or we'll flip you the bird!

For a bit of a laugh check out the comments that were posted on this video's site (click the via youtube.com link below the vid).  There are some classics.  Notice how some of the cats get real defensive and agro when someone starts calling the video a fake.

By the way if anyone recognizes the rad soundtrack playing on this clip please let me know- would be great for my extreme jump-rope routine.
